#MuskieShoutOut to Jon McConnell, who heads up the Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates (iJAG) program at Muscatine High School! During their back-to-school summit, Jon was awarded the iJAG ‘Work-based Learning Champion.’ From the iJAG press release, “From veterinary tech to real estate to home remodeling, Jon will search wide and near to find the opportunity that helps his students prepare for work and life!” Keep up the great work, Jon! More about the iJAG program from its website. “Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates (iJAG) is a statewide nonprofit organization and affiliate of the JAG Network. Our work receives bipartisan support from Governors and legislatures, corporate executives, and community leaders across the country. See the list of JAG Board of Directors members in Iowa and those serving nationally alongside JAG Board Chair Governor Kim Reynolds.”

How exciting is this? Two Muscatine High School Band Program members, Hayden Gonzalez and Grace Kreitner, made the All-State Band this past weekend and will be performing with the rest of the All-State recipients in Ames, IA, on the weekend of November 23rd! Hayden Gonzalez is a freshman bassoon player, and Grace Kreitner is a junior bass clarinet player. Great work, Muskies!
