#MuskieShoutOut to Jon McConnell, who heads up the Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates (iJAG) program at Muscatine High School! During their back-to-school summit, Jon was awarded the iJAG ‘Work-based Learning Champion.’ From the iJAG press release, “From veterinary tech to real estate to home remodeling, Jon will search wide and near to find the opportunity that helps his students prepare for work and life!” Keep up the great work, Jon! More about the iJAG program from its website. “Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates (iJAG) is a statewide nonprofit organization and affiliate of the JAG Network. Our work receives bipartisan support from Governors and legislatures, corporate executives, and community leaders across the country. See the list of JAG Board of Directors members in Iowa and those serving nationally alongside JAG Board Chair Governor Kim Reynolds.”
We recognized the Youth Sports Foundation football players during Friday’s home game at Muscatine HS. These future Muskies took the field during warm-ups with their coaches. Thank you for being with us!

The parent-led Carnival After Prom Event (CAPE) is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025. Parents plan and run #muskiecape, which includes free food, entertainment, and a SAFE alternative after prom! CAPE needs parents to make this event happen. On Tuesday, September 24, at 5:00 pm, they’ll meet across from the MHS Commons on the Learning Stairs. The majority of the work is done in the spring. For more information or if you are interested but cannot attend, please email Karen Brookhart at kbrookhart@taxrelief.org.
